Where We Love to Eat in Hochatown & Broken Bow

The restaurants, breweries, wineries, and local favorites we enjoy and regularly recommend to our guests.

One of the questions we’re asked most often is, “Where should we eat while we’re in Hochatown?”

Over the years, we’ve found some wonderful local restaurants, breweries, wineries, and casual places to grab a meal. Some are our own favorites, while others have been consistently recommended by friends and past guests.

Rather than trying to list every restaurant in the area, these are the places we’d happily recommend to our own family and friends. Restaurants and menus can change, so we’ll continue updating this page as we discover new favorites.

Our Current Favorite

🐾 Pressa Italia

Pressa Italia is our favorite right now. It’s casual yet elegant, with consistently tasty food and great service. You’ll find wood-fired pizzas, pastas, and a good wine selection in an atmosphere that works equally well for a date night or dinner with the family.

Some consider it the nicest restaurant in Hochatown, but it still feels comfortable and approachable. Reservations are recommended, particularly during busy weekends. The outdoor patio is pet friendly.

Walkable From Stonewood

One of the things we love about Stonewood is being able to leave the vehicle parked and walk to several Hochatown favorites.

🐾 Shuck Me

Shuck Me serves Gulf seafood, oysters, crab legs, Cajun favorites, and plenty of other options in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The outdoor patio is pet friendly, and it’s an easy walk from Stonewood.

🐾 Mountain Fork Brewery

Mountain Fork Brewery is a great casual choice for pizza, burgers, salads, and locally brewed beer. They also offer beer to go along with a full bar.

It’s family friendly, has a pet-friendly patio, and is another easy walk from Stonewood. It’s a particularly good stop after a day on Broken Bow Lake or exploring Beavers Bend.

More Hochatown Favorites

🐾 FishTales Winery & Bistro

FishTales combines a winery and tasting room with a casual bistro, making it an easy place to spend part of an afternoon or enjoy a relaxed meal. Their outdoor patio is pet friendly.

🐾 Buffalo Grill

Buffalo Grill offers a casual bar-style menu in a relaxed setting. The patio and covered deck areas are pet friendly, and while there isn’t a formal dog menu, they’ve been known to bring a pup cup when you ask for one.

🐾 Abendigos

Abendigos offers steaks, burgers, fish, and other favorites in an atmosphere that feels nice without being overly formal. It’s a good option when you want something a little more elevated while still keeping things casual.

Reservations are recommended, and the outdoor tables are pet friendly.

🐾 Grateful Head Pizza

Grateful Head is a longtime Hochatown favorite for pizza. It’s casual, family friendly, has a full bar, the covered outdoor patio is pet friendly and if you happen to be there later in the day and the patio is mostly empty you may find yourself duking it out for your last slice with some raccoons.

The Blue Rooster

The Blue Rooster is a casual stop for Southern-style favorites including fried catfish, po’boys, fried pickles, and fried jalapeños.

We’ve heard mixed information over time about whether the patio is pet friendly, so we recommend checking with the restaurant before bringing your dog.

🐾 Beavers Bend Brewery

Beavers Bend Brewery is known for its variety of craft beers on tap and a relaxed Hochatown atmosphere. Food is more snack-oriented, with choices such as corn dogs and nachos.

The large multi-level outdoor deck is pet friendly and makes this an easy place to relax for a while with a beer.

Worth the Short Drive Into Broken Bow

Brick and Bread

Brick and Bread is located in Broken Bow rather than Hochatown and is worth keeping in mind when you’re heading into town. They offer flatbread pizzas, salads, wraps, and soups in a casual, family-friendly setting.

A Few Tips From Us

Hochatown can get busy, especially on weekends and during peak seasons. If you have your heart set on Pressa Italia or Abendigos, making a reservation ahead of time is a good idea.

If you’re traveling with your dog, you’ll notice that Hochatown has quite a few pet-friendly patios. Policies can always change, though, so it never hurts to confirm directly with the restaurant before you go.

And if you’re staying at Stonewood, take advantage of the location. Being able to walk to dinner, grab a beer, or stop for a casual meal without getting back in the car is one of our favorite things about the cabin.

We hope you find a few favorites of your own while you’re here. If you discover somewhere we absolutely need to try, let us know—we’re always happy to add another good Hochatown meal to the list.
